The Paid Sick Time Conundrum

Figuring out how much paid sick time to give employees is often a conundrum for small business owners. With small staffs and limited resources, having even one person out can often create significant difficulties.

In fact, statistics show U.S. businesses lose in the neighborhood of $200 billion a year due to costs from employee sickness.

Only 14% of small business owners give employees between 6-10 paid sick days, with 46% giving 5 days or less, according to survey data from SurePayroll.
